Kamers met aandacht
Background
Stichting Het Vergeten Kind and Kamers Met Aandacht are two Dutch charities dedicated to supporting vulnerable children and young adolescents. When children in care turn 18, they are no longer eligible for child welfare services, often leaving them without housing or opportunities, stuck between two worlds. Recognising this critical gap, the two organisations joined forces to find people willing to share their extra space at home and offer these young adults a safe place to stay.
Solution
Rather than emphasising the urgency of homelessness among these young adults, we focused on insights from behavioural interviews: the temporary nature of the arrangement and the minimal support required. These young adults simply need a safe environment, and hosting them offers a deeply rewarding experience for the host. This led to the theme 'Een huisgenoot voor even, een ervaring voor het leven', highlighting the mutual benefits and lifelong impact of opening one’s home.
